I have a Class Library that contains a Form and several helper classes. A
thread gets created that performs processing of data behind the scenes and
the Form never gets displayed (it is for debug puposes only and is not
normally visable to the user.) The Thread function is actually in the Form
class.
Now.. What I am seeing is that when I create an instance of this Class
Library's Form, which starts the worker thread, it seems to hose up...

I have a windows app whose main dialog contains a button
that launches a form. I've tried using Form.Show() to
have it launch as a modeless form, but it behaves as if
it's modal (i.e. parent form can't receive focus)...
Can someone tell me what I need to do to make the child
form modeless..??? I want to be able to alternate focus
between both dialogs...
thanks,

I'm trying to create many squares on a form and for every new square, change
the background colour to the next colour. I'm trying to create a colour
palette showing all available colours and their colour name.
My problem is that I can not figger out how to create a new panel at
specific intervals across and down the form. Here's the code I have so far:
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs) Handles...

When the ASP.NET menu is rendered on downlevel browers, the text "^ up one

Any ideas how I can change that text? I did not find a property for the menu
control where I can change it.

Hi all
I stumbled over a new problem:
I have a programm with just a class that is asynchronous listening for
network connections. As soon as someone connected, a new form needs to be
created.
The Form gets created but hangs after creation. I'ts logical that that
happens because the new Form doesn't get a Message Loop.
The Message Loop is created on Application.Run() on the Main Method on the
Main Thread. The Callback is (normally)...

I'm assuming this is by-design, but it doesn't appear to be documented:
>>> '%8.f' % (-1)
' -1'
>>> '%#8.f' % (-1)
' -1.'
The docs list the alternate forms, but there isn't one listed for f/F. Itwould seem the alternate form for floating points is truncate & round the floating point value, but always display the . at the end. Is that correct?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
