All controls on a form to read-only?

How does one make all controls on a Windows form read-only? Controls such as
check boxes, combo boxes and date time pickers dont appear to have a
read-only property. Disabling the controls makes them hard to read and you
cant select/copy the contents of text boxes.

Thanks

I doubt that this is possible without using replacements for some of the
controls. You'll find some replacements for common controls which support a
read-only mode. The article
<URL:http://www.codeproject .com/cs/miscctrl/ReadOnlyComboBo x.asp> showcases
a read-only combobox control, for example. In addition to using replacement
controls you can selectively set controls to read-only mode or disable them
based on their type. To do that, recursively enumerate the controls on the
form and check their type using 'TypeOf...Is... '.

Hello All: I am trying to dynamically populate a web page with literal content and controls (textboxes and checkboxes (and eventually two buttons - the buttons do not appear in the code yet). I read an xml file and, using the values retrieved from it, determine what text should be displayed and which controls should be rendered and - most importantly - where those controls should be rendered. The ultimate goal is to have some text...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
