localization and resource.dll

Hi,

I use the localization feature of my VB.net application to create some ApplicationName .resource.dll files, but i would like to know if it does not
exist a way to change the name of these DLLs.

for example my application is called TEST2.

i localized my application into English (EN), Spanish (SP) and French (FR).
in my bin folder, i will have 3 sub folders : en, sp and fr
in each folder, will be a dll called : TEST2.resource. dll

i would like to change each dll, by :
lang_en.dll (for english)
lang_sp.dll (for spanish)
lang_fr.dll (for french)

and to place all dlls, in 1 folder called DLL.

how, can i do this and make my application used these dll for localizing my application ?
thanks a lot,
Maileen

Hello, I have the following situation when trying to localize my software: I have BIG solution with about 80 projects. In one of the projects I have a number of dialogs (the dialog project :-) ). I have decided that I do not want to use the "form"-mechanism (using the property "localized=true") for localization since the strings I show are not that "constant" during the life time of the dialog. Thus, I have to put the resources in...

Hi there, can anyone help me with this one.... i have a page which is in normal english format, but when i wanna change it to Russian format text, i set the Culture code, but it still remains the same. Does this mean that every bit of text i need to convert every label on my screens in order for them to show or is there an easier way to this? thanks for anybody's help.

Hello, I'm trying to use explicit localization expression to access global resources from an .inc file that's included into several ASPX pages. I may be wrong in my expression, bu accessing Local resources is working well indeed. Here is the code : ..... <asp:Localize runat="server" id='myid' text="<% $ Resources

I don't seem to "get" ASP.NET 2.0's Localization features. I've read up on everything... and of course, everything is explained in cursory softball terms- not any "real-world" usage way. I hope someone can give me a clue... Questions: 1) Do my eyes deceive me or is it true that localization is still totally utterly disengaged from the Designer and Property Editor... either in source

I need to localize my ASP.NET app and I just used "Tools" --"generate local resources" command and everything works fine in my WebForms. Resource file name is: MyWebForm.aspx.resx under a subDir named: "App_LocalResources" inside the App directory. Now I need to localize some messages my VB app sends to the user. What I'm looking for is a way to read from a .resx file and get the appropriate values. I found some examples like this...

I have an ASP.NET application that was built in ASP.NET v1.1. It has a SQL Server back end database. I have been asked to provide an estimate for the level of effort required to produce a Chinese version of the application. I have read a bit about localization in .NET. However I have no experience with actually implementing localization. Can anyone out there provide some sort of idea as to how difficult or easy this may be? It...

I have a VB.NET 2005 application with several forms and a couple hundred "strings." I've been looking into all the localization improvements in VB.NET, and I can't seem to find anything that does what I'm looking for. My application has all the strings hard-coded, I wasn't planning on localizing it when I first built it. But that's OK, I am perfectly willing to re-create a resource file for en_US with the required data.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
