NotifyIcon Problem

Is it possible to display two separate lists on a ContextMenu with a right
or left click on the tray icon.

It appears that the default function of NotifyIcon is to show the context
menu on right click only. Is there a way around this or am I missing
something.

Thanks,
Norm

Hi Everyone, My problem concerns ContextMenus. It's easy enough to create one and apply it to a NotifyIcon. When it's compiled and run, it works beautifully. Right click and there you are. But I want it to show the ContextMenu on a left click. This seems to be harder than it should be. I've assigned a click event to the NotifyIcon which it registers, but when I try to use: NotifyIcon1.ContextMenu.Show(Forms.Control control ,...

Can anyone tell me if there is a workable method to get the mouse cursor position on the screen or the NotifyIcon position? I need to display a context menu for the NotifyIcon when clicked and I'd like it to display based on the relative position of the tray icon or mouse pointer if possible (whichever method works). Any help would be much appreciated. - Glen

Hi everyone... I'm a starter at .Net programming, and I need some help. I was asked to develop a console app that will auto-hide the console window and show a system tray icon. And by default, the system tray icon on click is supposed to show the console window I know window apps are usually the better solution for handling NotifyIcon class, but I would really like to know how to do it in console apps

I have a NotifyIcon application. (c# 2) I want to be able to catch a kill/shutdown attempt so that I can call Dispose() to remove the icon. I tried to create an event handler for ApplicationExit and put my icon dispose call in there, but when process.kill() is called from an outside app on the notifyicon app, the event doesn't get raised. the app closes but the icon remains in the tray as dispose was never called. any ideas? another...

Hello Jason, Thanks for using Microsoft Newsgroup Support Service, my name is Ji Zhou and I will be working on this issue with you. I have tried to but cannot reproduce your issue on my side. From your codes, I think the logical is, every time the Timer's elapsed event fires, we call the Check_For_Version_Update() function. From the Check_For_Version_Update() function, we judge a condition statement, and determine whether to call...

I have a program which puts an icon in the notification area and has a menu associated with it available by right clicking on the icon. I want the menu items to be selected by single left clicks but I also want the user to be able to single left click on the icon itself to do some other functionality. Here's the problem - the single click on the menu first fires the notifyicon1_click() routine and then the menuitem1_click() routine. How do I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
