Trouble with TreeView

I am loading data from a XML file and populating a TreeVew. I store
certain values in the tags of the treevew nodes using the following
code

--------------------
Dim servernode As New System.Windows. Forms.TreeNode( )

servernode.Text = NodtTemplate.At tributes(0).Inn erText
servernode.Tag = NodtTemplate.Fi rstChild.InnerX ml
--------------------

When user double clicks on a node, I show the value from tag to the
user. It works perfectly first time. But when the XML file is modified
and reloaded in the TreeView it does not show the modified value when I
double click on the node. To see the modified value I have to exit the
application and re-start it again.

I verified just before assigning the modified values to the tag of the
node but when I double click on the node is show the value it loaded
for the first time.

Is there any cacheing there from TreeViews. Can this be disabled?

My code in Mouse Down event
-------------------------------
tvMDI.SelectedN ode = tvMDI.GetNodeAt (e.X, e.Y)
-------------------------------

My code in double click event
-------------------------------
MsgBox(tvMDI.Se lectedNode.Tag)
------------------------------

Thanks in advance.

Samir

I'm going over a result set and adding results as levels on the tree control. when stepping through the code i see execution switch to the calling subroutine as soon as the parentnode.nodes.add is called. Seems like i'm trampling some variable (btw: why doesn't that raise an error?) I'm a fairly experienced programmer but i'm new to vb.net so maybe this is something trivial...

Hello, I knew how to use the treeview under VB6. After migrating to .NET, well, I'm lost. I try to add a new node, either to the same level or as a child to a selected node in the treeview. However, either it only add it to the root level or it only add it on level below, doesn't matter what I select. And in some case, I just get an exception.

Hi, I've been working with TreeView for ASP.NET. I've had several puzzling difficulties with it. For example I can write an application that works fine programmatically adding TreeNode objects to a TreeView. If I try to derive a class as follows public class MyTreeNode : TreeNode { }

Hi All, I have a form that displays hierarchical categories in a treeview. Ok so far so good. What I was to do is have users be able to select a node in the treeview as part of filling out the form. I only want to allow single selection, so using checkboxes is out of the question. It works as is, but it makes the form very cumbersome if every time that a user selects a node, the whole page has to reload. Is there a way to have a node...

Hi everyone, I've gotten myself is bit of a mess where I'm loading a treeview. Basically I initialize the treeview control with a single root node we'll call it root. I do this by using the following syntax: Dim tNode as TreeNode = New TreeNode("root") tNode.name = "root" TreeView1.Nodes.Add(tNode) Now that I've gotten my root node set, I proceed to pass this node to another sub where some children are loaded to the node. The node is...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
