Editing a cell in ListView

Does anyone have any code for floating a textbox or combo over a cell in
ListView to simulate a cell edit function?

Thanks

Thanks for that. I thought it was all perfect until I tried it. Once again,
it only changes the first cell in each row. Nowhere have I been able to find
how you get a reference on the other cells in the row. It's the same as
label edit as far as I can see.

Thanks anyway.

Jerry,
I've been messing around with this and I've now been able to somewhat do
what you're wanting to do.
Send me an email to the quarantine address and I'll send you what I have.
It's not without problems but maybe you can build on it. I use this address
for junk mail only but if you put Listview Code as the subject, I'll have a
better chance of finding it.

I have a simple winform with the following code. But although I can read back the info, the display fails to provide the text or the cell background color changes. private void ListViewBroke() { listView.View = View.Details; ArrayList LVcolTitles= new ArrayList(); LVcolTitles.Add("Drive"); LVcolTitles.Add("Cust");

Is it possible to get the Handle property for a particular cell in a ListView? I'm wanting to turn a cell into a progress bar rather than just displaying text. If it's possible to get the Handle I can just do Graphics.FromHwnd(listView1.Handle); and then use FillRectangle to display the progress bar. Any ideas? Darrell

hi all, just want to find out if it is possible to set the gridline of individual cell in a listview using C#. Reason for this is I need to have a listview which has fixed number of columns and rows, but individual cell can span columns, though not row. As such, I need to be able to set the gridline of individual cell, something like how u set the table grid for individual cell in MS Word's table. I don't know what event in the custom...

I have a DataGrid on my Form, and I wish to disable any cell editing. For example; when the user clicks on a cell, the cell become editable by changing its color to gray and context menu is shown on muse right mouse click. I do not want the enable this cell context menu (I have my own context menu) and I do not want the cell to change it's color. I want that on any click - the entire row will be selected. There are some other cases where...

Hi, I need to write a table that allows in-place editing of the content of a cell whenever a mouse button is pressed inside the cell like Google Spreadsheet at http://spreadsheets.google.com. However, the "contentEditable" property only works with IE, not Firefox. Is there any workaround? Google people was able to make their spreadsheets work with Firefox, so I believe that there must be a resolution. Any advice is greatly appreciated....

Hi to all, I have a vb.net form with a listview in "details" mode. I want to click each cell of each listview item so I can show a window that modifies some properties of the cell object. I've searched yet if there is any information about this topic, but I didn't find anything clear. Can you give me some ideas? Thanks a lot.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
