First, please excuse the fact that I'm a complete MySQL newbie.
My site used forum software that I wrote myself (in Perl) which, up until
now, has used flat files. This worked fine, however lately I've been wanting
to do more stuff with user accounts, and had been eying MySQL for over a
year.
Finally I've decided to start off small by converting the forum's account
system to a MySQL database (and convert the rest later after I'm...

I'm currently using ASP.NET with VS2003 and SQL Server 2003. The ASP.NET app
i have made is running on IIS v6 and consists of a number of pages that allow
the user to read information from the database into classes, which are used
throughout the application. I have made class collections which, upon reading
from the DB, create an instance of the class and store the DB values in
there temporarily. My problem is that if user1 looks at...

I have made an ASP.NET web application that connects to SQL Server, reading
and writing data using classes. I was recommended to use session objects to
store the data per user, because each user using the application needs to see
their own data only. My problem is that when multiple users are in the
application, when in the session object, data is fine, however as there is
only one instance of the class files, when data is put into them,...

Sorry in advance for my ignorance. Any help would sure be
appreciated. I'm writing a fairly simple application with VB.Net and
am obviously a bit of a newbie. This application will be used by 1, 2
or at most 3 people concurrently and I'm using Access 2003 for my data
source. We are not dealing with a large amount of data (5 or 6
tables, for a total of maybe 3,000 records - one table having the
majority of that). This application is...

The current property settings of an ASP.NET page and those of any

Is there a straightfoward API in .NET that allows for inspection of a
database? That is, to look at the structure of the database, without
knowing anything in advance about it? For example, retrieving a list of
tables in the database.
Doing a little browsing in MSDN, I see that the abstract representation of
a database appears to be the DataSet class. I also see that I can use
"data adapter" classes (e.g. OdbcDataAdapter) to connect a...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
