Getting E_FAIL, reading Excel File

mkl
Hello

I use this code to read a Excel File.

Dim connectString As String = "Provider=Micro soft.Jet.OLEDB. 4.0;Data
Source=e:\test\ bla.xls;Extende d Properties='Exc el .0;HDR=YES;'"
Dim sheetName As String
Dim excelConnect As New OleDbConnection (connectString)
excelConnect.Op en()
If I run the Code within a aspx Projekt I get this Error:

An unhandled exception of type 'System.Data.Ol eDb.OleDbExcept ion'
occurred in Unknown Module.
Additional information: Keine Fehlerinformati onen verfügbar für:
E_FAIL(0x800040 05).
(Keine Fehlerinformati onen verfügbar = No Errorinformatio n available)

If I run the same Code uin a normal Desktop Projekt ( A Windows Forms
Application)
every thing works fine.
Any Ideas what the Problem could be.

Thanx
Micha

Hi, I have a little problem with encoding. Was hoping maybe anyone can help me to solve it. There is some amount of data in a database (PG) that must be inserted into Excel sheet and emailed. Nothing special, everything works. Except that non-ascii characters are not displayed properly. The data is stored as XML into a text field. When I use pgsql it's displayed good in the terminal. Now I run my script and print data

Because his excel program is a dozen worksheets (all packed with endless rows of formulas) long, i thought it'd use excel as backbone of the webprogram (don't worry, the...

Oh--- I have about ripped all my hair out of my head on this one. I have spent many sleepless nights pondering, tweaking, and cursing this error. Please, please. Please I hope someone can help. I have a program with 2 web browsers (of type AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser). Whenever I click my simulated back button, my event listener fires and executes this command: myWebBrowser1.GoBack(); // simple, right? WRONG! Crashes here.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
