I've seen several posts from people who have seen this flashing in
TreeView's when resizing a form. I've noticed it in my app, but only in the
child windows. For example, my main form has a splitter with a TreeView and
I do not get the flickering with it.
I created a new Form based Windows app. Added a TreeView (dock left), then
a splitter and a property grid on the right (dock fill). For this test, I
added a panel and button at the...

Has anyone seen a fix for the flickering effect you get when resizing a
Webbrowser control?
It's really irritating and doesn't make for a professional-looking
application.

Hi everyone, I have a DataGrid that displays data on a dialog
application. When the dialog is resized, the datagrid keeps the same
shape, We would need the datagrid to keep a relative shape compared to
the rest of the dialog when the user resizes it. Any ideas on how to
do this?
Thanks!

Hello,
I have a problem with a form loading a repainting. Because the form
uses an office 2000 styles, when it paints it causes a lot of flickering. The
standard advice is to set the following
SetStyle(ControlStyles.DoubleBuffer, True)
SetStyle(ControlStyles.AllPaintingInWmPaint, True)
However this seems to make no difference. When the form loads it originall
appears in the old grey colour of classic windows and then quickly changes to...

I want to resize the height of a form without resizing the width,
therefore I tried:
Private Sub Form1_Resize(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Resize
Me.Width = 226
End Sub
However this causes a lot of flickering on my form. How can I turn

Well, to start, I would like to say that I read many of things available online to overcome the notorious flickering problem that all programmers face when trying to draw, resize, or even drag somethings on any form.
I started my project trying to dissect the screen into 4 quadrant using the mouse position to draw the dissection lines, however it turned out to be a very challenging job and I can get through with the thing by using a form and...

Hi all
I have a MDI Container Form, with one label control
on the Background of this container form.
When I now open a child form, this form is behind
the label ... and this looks ugly ... :-))
When I set the label with "SendToBack", it completely disapears.
I also tried to set the child form like "BringToFront" but this also does
not help.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
