Bluetooth OBEX File Transfer

Hi All,
I'd like to transfer files from a Desktop computer to my
Cellphone/PDA using VB.NET

I've research a bit on this, and I found that I would need to do it
using OBEX via Serial Bluetooth COM Port.

I've read that using OpenNetCF Serial component will make things
easier coding things up because as of the moment there is no Serial
Component on the .NET Framework.

What puzzles me is that I cant find a sample VB.NET applicaton for
Desktop that uses Bluetooth to transfer files to a mobile device. What
I mean is that all samples and documentation regarding bluetooth leads
on me developing a "mobile" application.

Which for my need is actually the other way around, I'd like to
create a "Desktop" application to transfer files to the mobile device.

Is it correct that I can use OpenNetCF library to a standard VB.NET
Windows Application?

Or I'm getting mixed up? Anyone please enlighten me on how to program
a "Desktop" application that transfer files to a mobile device with
VB.NET (VS2003)

Thanks,
Henry Wu :)

Henry,

You are very welcome here in this newsgroup.

However there is an active newsgroup for the CE framework.

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.framew ork.compactfram ework

There you have much more change. About CE there are as well regular chats by
the way for if you have problems.

I hope this helps something,

Hello! I have a notebook with Bluetooth. If I use a cellular phone with camera and bluetooth to send a picture to the notebook is it then possible to receive it using my .NET application. Probably the question is if it's possible to receive OBEX bluetooth messages using the .NET Framework? Best regards,

I have a Wifi ad-hoc network. I would like to communicate with another device over WiFi using OBEX to send items. Failing that, I would like to use the WiFi connection to emulate a serial port with another device for simlpe data transfer. Is that possible? Thanks.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
