I have read several interesting posts on passing structures to C dlls, but none seem to cover the following case. The structure (as seen in C) is as follows:
typedef struct tag_scanparm
{
short cmd;
short fdc;
WORD dsf;
short boxcar;
short average;
short chan_ena;

Okay, just when I thought I was starting to understand stuff. In VB6...
Type MyDataType
Dim Value1 as double
Dim Value2 as double
End Type
Dim MyData1 as MyDataType
Dim MyData2 as MyDataType

When I declare an array as double(,) then try to use it I get an error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I have found that I can redim the array and all is well. Is my approach
proper here or is the a better way for setting the instance of this specific
format for an array.

Hi,
I'm upgrading a VB6 app to VB.net and I'm having a problem with a call to a
function provided in a DLL.
The function takes the address of a structure which it will fill in with
values.
I get an error:

I am having trouble figuring out how to declare a pointer to an array
of structures and initializing the pointer with a value. I've looked
at older posts in this group, and tried a solution that looked
sensible, but it didn't work right. Here is a simple example of what
I'm trying to accomplish:
// I have a hardware peripheral that I'm trying to access
// that has two ports. Each port has 10 sequential
// registers. Create a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
