gray line across text editor

Is there any way to turn off that annoying line that breaks apart methods in
the VS.NET text editor? I know you can turn off other things on the text
editor, but I can not figure out how to turn that line off... it keeps
hideing underscores that I can't see...

It seems that there can be too many words on a line. This is a problem with pages that are not fixed width. There seems to be a few problems. 1) Finding where the next line starts after finishing a long line. 2) The pages just look too wordy and it is tiring to read. I would think that there are already "formulas" for word count, lineheight

The thin grey line that goes across the editor to mark off the sub\functions\regions from one another, is there a way to turn it off? I was considering using an underscore for my private member variables, but with the grey line, it obscures it (on the last one).

This is a real small point, but I'd like to hear what others do in this case. It's more an 'administrative' type question than Python code question, but it still involves a bit of syntax. One thing I like to do is use tabs for my indentation, because this makes it easy to outdent when I need to start a new line in column 1. I can press backspace once and move 4 spaces to the left. But I read in the PEP that spaces are recommended over...

Stupid question... but thanks to Jon's page here: http://www.yoda.arachsys.com/csharp/complete.html I now find myself having a good reason to keep my code lines shorter (which i tend to do for my own sake, but not unilaterally). In Ultraedit and PSPad, I can create a vertical line that shows me where the 80th (or whatever) column is. Any such mojo in the .NET editor?

There seem to be plenty of Javascript implemented WYSIWYG editors for editing rich text in a web browser, but I haven't been able to find one that shows line numbers. Even if that was the only enhancement over the standard textarea object it would be great for my needs. Does anyone know of such a widget? Thanks, -Carl Gundel, author of Liberty BASIC

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
