Saving Stream as Image.

Hi Gurus,

I have an Application, in which
1) need to post data to a URL(Remote Server), by using HTTPRequest.
2) get the Image data in the form of Stream in Response.
3) need to save this stream as a Image file on the local machine.

Giving some code snippet below.

RequestAPI = CType(WebReques t.Create(URLNam e), HttpWebRequest)
RequestData = ImageName
RequestAPI.Cont entType = "applicatio n/x-www-form-urlencoded"
RequestAPI.Meth od = "POST"
StoreRequestStr eam = New StreamWriter(Re questAPI.GetReq uestStream())
StoreRequestStr eam.Write(Reque stData)

'Close the StreamWriter Object
StoreRequestStr eam.Close()
StoreResponse = CType(RequestAP I.GetResponse() , HttpWebResponse )
Dim ImgStream As Stream
Dim StremaLen As Long

ImgStream = StoreResponse.G etResponseStrea m()
StremaLen = StoreResponse.C ontentLength
'**** For Saving Image File ****
WriteImgFile(Im gStream, StremaLen)

Public Sub WriteImgFile(By Val ImgStream As Stream, ByVal RespLen As
Long)
Dim BinReader As BinaryReader
BinReader = New BinaryReader(Im gStream)

Dim BinWriter As BinaryWriter
Dim objDestFile As FileStream
Dim ImgByteArr() As Byte

ImgByteArr = BinReader.ReadB ytes(CInt(RespL en))

Try
objDestFile = New FileStream("D:/ImageTest/Test.jpg",
FileMode.Create , FileAccess.Writ e)
BinWriter = New BinaryWriter(ob jDestFile)
BinWriter.Write (ImgByteArr)
Catch ex As IOException
End Try
End Sub

The problem is, I get StoreResponse.C ontentLength as -1, which prevents
me from saving the Stream data as File. Actually Image resides on the
server. How this can be achieved ?

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Regards,

Umesh.

My question is similar to one someone posted a few months back, but I don't see any replies. Basically I want to be able to have users upload photos and save them in a database (as byte data) and be able to load them to an image webcontrol, but system.web.ui.webcontrols.image only seems to have a control to load the image from a URL. There's no way to load this directly without saving the image as a file and then using...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
