Hello,
There's some confusion about the purpose and difference between these handy
classes...
First, both of them are holding number of key - value pairs, right? Then, I
see that there may be some difference in terms of data types allowed for
keys and values, perhaps?

I'm trying to write a utility that will use Reflection to examine any data
model I pass it and correctly map out this model into a tree structure. When
I say "any" , in fact there will only be 3 types of items in the
very hierarchical data model:
- Classes (and nested classes)
- Collections
- Properties
I've successfully written the Reflection code to handle any combination of
classes and properties but I'm confused about what to do...

same signature of the function which is overridden in the base class, except
for the return type which may return a pointer or reference to a derived
type of the base class's return type.
In .NET the overridden virtual function is similar, but an actual parameter

I'd like to create a strongly-typed collection of objects that are indexed
by a string value (key is a string). I'd also like to allow users to iterate
over the collection using a For-each loop where an object of the contained
type is returned (instead of just the standard DictionaryEntry object).
- only allow objects of type MyObj to be added to the collection
- return a MyObj type in the For-each loop
What's the best way to do this?

can update existing VB6 code to (for several specific functions) return a
Hashtable from a .NET library.
I've had very little luck processing the Hashtable itself in VB6 (I can add
a reference to the project so it knows what a Hashtable is, but I'm not
having much luck looping through all objects in the Hashtable), so I decided
to try a different idea.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
