Rik,

You need to do it file by file or use the xcopy command using process or
shell.

I hope this helps,

Coming from the C++ world I can not understand the reason why copy constructors are not used in the .NET framework. A copy constructor creates an object from a copy of another object of the same kind. It sounds simple but evidently .NET has difficulty with this concept for some reason. I do understand that .NET objects are created on the GC heap but that doesn't mean that they couldn't be copied from another object of the same kind when...

Hi, A default copy constructor is created for you when you don't specify one yourself. In such case, the default copy constructor will simply do a bitwise copy for primitives (including pointers) and for objects types call their default constructor. Any others points i should know?

I have a generic data layer DLL that expects to read its connection string from it's own config file. The dll and config file have been placed in the bin directory (VS.NET2005). However, due to shadow copying, the config file does not get placed in the same directory as the executing assembly at execution time. For example, my data access DLL was copied to the following location .... ...

I haven't done a lot of file I/O in .NET and thought I had this figured out. I am simply wanting to move a UNC-based directory path to a new path using DirectoryInfo. Example: Source directory I want to move: \\server\share1\MyDir

Not sure if I can ask the question in this forum - please let me know if it is better elsewhere. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced good copy protection program that will protect software on either a machine only or network range basis?? I have just found Shareguard that looks reasonably priced. My applications are for vertical market and are not likely to be cracked, BUT users are likely to pass working versions around if not...

Hi, I wasn't exactly sure where to send this, I don't know if it is a bug in Python or not. This is rare, but it has occurred a few times and seems to be reproducible for those who experience it. Examine this code: This is the output: exceptions.UnicodeDecodeError

Hello, I've been trying to create a WCF SOAP Router Service that can forward not just the message body but also any security headers set by the originator of the message. The destination service I'm routing messages to uses WSHttpBinding, SSL with UserName/Password client credentials. Using guidance from the Technology samples I can create a router that forwards messages without security credentils but not with them. Can anybody point me...

Using .NET 2.0 is it more efficient to copy files to a single folder versus spreading them across multiple folders. For instance if we have 100,000 files to be copied, Do we copy all of them to a single folder called 'All Files' Do we spread them out and copy them to multiple folders like Folder 000 - Copy files from 0 to 1000 Folder 001 - Copy files from 1000 to 2000 Folder 002 - Copy files from 2000 to 2999

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
