I'm working for the first time on an existing application that
communicates with an SQL Server database. We've backed up the database
and installed it on our own machine, and copied the ADB file to our
PCs.
One problem. We can't open up the ADB file. When clicked, with the
shift key down or not, it spends a long time in hourglass mode, and has
to be stopped via the task manager.
I don't know why it is ignoring the shift key (does...

I noticed that after running compact/repair, I have to recompile my code for the program not to break the next time I open it. What happens is the auto exec macro runs the main() module, then hangs with the second line of code highlighted. No error message, just hangs. If I stop it and recompile the code, it runs again. Does anyone know anything about this? Is there some way to run something to recompile the code automatically after compacting...

Hi Everyone,
Not sure the following is possible to do.
The standard MS Access user interface has checkboxes on a number of menu pages, such as Tools/Options/View. I have been asked to find a way to automatically uncheck these controls by writing either a macro or module using VBA or any other method.
The idea is that the user, with limited access rights and technical know how, opens Access and just run a macro or click something to...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
