The ASP page has multiple buttons, and when the user clicks different
buttons, it will submit the form data to different URLs.
My first approach was to use BUTTON type, and triggers javascript function
to submit the form data. However, it didn't work properly and I changed to
use SUBMIT type.
<INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="action1" VALUE="Return to Main Search Page"
onClick="action1()">

Dear All,
I'm new to .NET and it seems that I'm terribly confused. I'm used to
program windows applications using C++ and native API. I decided to try
..NET windows Form application. Of course, Visual Studio did everything for
me and some empty form showed up on the screen upon starting the
application.
Then I incorporated really hardcore API calls such as RegisterClass and
CreateWindow and implemented wndProc, like in old days. ...

Excetremely annoying problem, I've an application with a long startup time.
So I created another form with my logo in it to as a splash screen.
The splash screen is run from another thread and is communicated solely
through static method and Invoke()'s
However, when I close my second form, the first one (main window) is hiding
under all the windows on the desktop.
If I don't close the splash screen, then everything is fine.

Hi,
I am creating a windows form, and when a specified event occurs
(button click), I am hiding the windows form and opening a new windows
form. When opening the new windows form and closing it, the main
windows form would still be running in the background and never
terminating. How can I terminate the old window form from the new
created window.
I hope someone out there understands my problem.

someone can shed some light...

Using VB .NET 2003,
I have a windows application that performs a series of file actions (copy,
move, delete) but the actions are completing before the window is painted on
the screen... how can I force the form to be painted on the screen first,
then the actions start? Or should I pause the app for a few seconds while the
form paints.
Any suggestion woudl be appreciated!

I recently installed and started using VS2005 on a Windows XP Pro machine.
When creating a new windows forms project I find that I am unable to hide any
forms using the me.hide() or me.visible = False methods. As far as I can tell
these methods are available and should work in VB2005. Any help and advise
would be great as this is causing be a number of problems of two new
projects I am working on.
Many Thanks

For writing a Windows desktop application, how much harder is it to use
the Windows C API than C#/.NET, assuming the coding is done in an
editor? What specific aspects were more difficult? I'm looking for
responses from programmers who have tried both.

Hello,
I'm *just* delving into Windows forms-based programming without the benefit
of any books, etc. I have a background in light ASP.NET work, so forgive me
if this is a really basic question related to Windows GUI.
I've created a "Form1.vb" file in my project, added a menustrip, etc. When a
user clicks on a menu item, how do I get it to show a new form in the same
window?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
