I have a NotifyIcon in my Windows Service project and I am trying to
add a ContextMenu to this NotifyIcon or use some of the mouse events.
Everything isn't working. I think so base class of the service
System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase don't catchWindows messages like mouse or
timer messages. Any Idea?
Thanks,

I implemented owner drawing on the main and context menus of my main form.
It works fine.
There is also a notify icon control that has a context menu. When the icon
is in the status bar, it works perfectly fine when it is double-clicked.
However, when I try to initialize the notify icon's context menu as an
owner-drawn menu, all the text in that menu disappears.
Is owner drawing a notify icon's context menu possible? I saw someone...

Hi everyone. Hope you can help me out on this one.
I'm developing a Component which has a property ContextMenu. This component,
when placed on a form with a working ContextMenu (events assigned to
elements and proven to work with labels) displays an icon in the
notification area by calling ShellNotifyIcon() (don't want to use NotifyIcon
class). The form's ContextMenu is assigned to the property ContextMenu of
the Component. I'm able to...

Sorry Ive added this twice (sortof) but if I'd added an addendum to the
first one then this would probably have been ignored.
This problem affects a ContextMenu attached to a NotifyIcon object. I don't
get the problem with context menus attached to list boxes etc.
Ive also seen a noticeable slow down in speed when the menu attempts to hide
after the problem occurs.
When I build a dynamic submenu on the first time round, it shows a nice...

Hi there,
I have an app whose structure is as follows: a module calls a custom
application context containing a notify icon and associated context menu,
which in turn acts upon an instance of another class, I'll call Class1 (i.e.
accesses its startup, shutdown, print reports methods).
Basically, Class1 manages communication between two other classes: one is a
class that listens for a socket connection from another application and the...

Hello Jason,
Thanks for using Microsoft Newsgroup Support Service, my name is Ji Zhou
and I will be working on this issue with you.
I have tried to but cannot reproduce your issue on my side. From your
codes, I think the logical is, every time the Timer's elapsed event fires,
we call the Check_For_Version_Update() function. From the
Check_For_Version_Update() function, we judge a condition statement, and
determine whether to call...

I have a program which puts an icon in the notification area and has a menu associated with it available by right clicking on the icon. I want the menu items to be selected by single left clicks but I also want the user to be able to single left click on the icon itself to do some other functionality.
Here's the problem - the single click on the menu first fires the notifyicon1_click() routine and then the menuitem1_click() routine. How do I...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
