vb.net (WMI) Check in which UserGroup a DomainUser exists

Using System.Manageme nt Namespace i get all users in a specific Domain
(thanks to Newsgroup Community!!).
I need to know each DomainUser in which UserGroup exists and if he is an
Administrator or not.

Any help??

And something more.

Dim queryString As String = String.Format(" SELECT * FROM Win32_UserAccou nt
WHERE Domain = {0} ", objDomainUser.D omainName)

Is there a "Win32_UserGrou ps" or something like that?? Where can i find what
other selections can i execute??

Thanks

Hi folks. I have an ASP.Net application that runs a .Net dll that uses WMI and ADSI(both managed) to connect to a given IIS root and search through it. When not using the ASP.Net client, but running from a winforms project - I can connect to both local and remote machines. However, when using the ASP.Net project - I get an "Access denied" exception. This happens when calling the ManagementScope.Connect() method.

generated some WMI managed classes using the downloadable extensions for vs2003 from mircrosoft downloads; wrote some test code to enumerate the physicall processors and it works a treat, but a question.. The code fails with the error that: "Additional information: COM object that has been separated from its underlying RCW can not be used." if I make a call to pc.Count before iterating though the objects. Dim d As New...

I am having problems using VB.Net's Management base object on a machine hosting Windows Server 2003. I am trying to set file permissions from a Windows Service. These files may be loacted on a local machine or somewhere on the network. I use the Management Base Object to set these permissions which works perfectly when the windows service is running on an XP machine. However, when the service is running on a Windows Server 2003 machine I...

My problem is that I want to set file permission on a file on the network using WMI, but the folder might not be mapped which ,as far as I know, WMI needs. So my solution to this would be to map the folder in runtime, but for some reason WMI does not seem to get that I have done the mapping. I still get a "Not Found" exeption. If I check the mapping from within the code it exists. Here is a part of the code I use. Dim FileName as string...

Hi, I have succesfully used a ManagementScope object to get WMI information about workstations on the current domain using "//xp10/root/cimv1". But if I make a request to a workstation on a sub-domain, the command fails to connect with "Access denied". Do I need to alter the string somehow to include the sub domain name or could this be a rights issue ? Thanks in advance, Adrian

Problem: I need to backup and clear the security event log. I have this working via a vbsscript which I will post below. However while I can use this script manually it is not user friendly and my end users who have to perform the backup and clear chore weekly are the "where is the button" types. I have written a vb.net 2005 gui as a front end that can launch my script and run it ok but the problem is since it is a script running in a...

I'm trying to (programatically) backup and clear the security event log on the local machine. I can do this manually through the event viewer and I am logged on as an administrator. I can successfully connect to the local wmi service. I can step through and list all the log files on the local computer in a text box so I know I can get an System.Management.ManagementObject that is the security log. However when I try to execute the...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
