hello,
this subject has been discussed many times in here, but a solution was
not found as far as could get to know. but perhaps newer developments of
java made one possible that i dont know of.
the problem is how i can read from multiple sockets without having to
create a new thread for each, which, i guess, affects the programms
performance if the number of connections to a server is very high.
would it practicable to use a thread...

Hi,
I have several threads communicating with each other using events
stored in Queues. Threads block on Queue.get() until somebody
publishes an event in thread's event queue.
I need to add support for sockets to the system. Thread needs to
unblock when:
- there is socket ready to be read, or

I am developing a network client application (using the Socket class)
that will need to make simultaneous TCP connections to many (100 or
more) servers. In this case, which would be a better strategy:
1) Create a thread for each connection and use blocking receives,
2) Use asynchronous receives (BeginReceive/EndReceive)
In both cases, I will also be sending data on the socket from the main
thread.

We have an application that has a 200 count loop that does the following:
' Each time thru the loop we pass the next IP Address is a range (aka
192.168.4.50 thru 192.168.4.254)
Try
If mUIO_Threads(i) Is Nothing Then
mUIO_Threads(i) = New System.Threading.Thread(AddressOf
mUIO_DAQ(i).InitDAQ)
mUIO_Threads(i).Name = mUIO_DAQ(i).UIO_IPAddr
mUIO_Threads(i).IsBackground = False

I'm been working with sockets for a short while now using a server
program a former coworker started. The program listens on a port for
incomming connections. When a valid connection is made (we send this
init string into the socket from the clients) the server closes the
socket so...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
