Simple Question

Hello,

I am using a beginners book on VB .net and already stumped....when using
this code (below) , it will tell me that MsgBox is not valid. This is a very
simple program and I can't figure out what the problem is:

MsgBox has changed in VB.NET it is now: MessageBox.Show ("")

That's interesting because in an application I made before using this book,
MsgBox worked and this book seems to use MsgBox throughout and it is a
VB.NET book.

MsgBox is a VB function and is still valid in VB .NET. However, this
function requires importing the Microsoft.Visua lBasic namespace. By default,
this namespace is added to all newly created projects. (Project -->
myproject properties --> Common Properties --> Imports). So you should be
able to use this function by default. If its throwing up an error, you might
want to check whether you have the namespace included. However, as Matt
suggested, you might want to use MessageBox.Show instead (I believe it has
more options).

msgbox() DOES exist in VB.NET

It gives me the squiggly underline and says:

"MsgBox is a namespace, and so it is not a valid expression"

But when I open a previous solution with MsgBox it doesn't give me this
error..suggesti ons?

had a "duh" moment...the book made you name the solution the same as MsgBox
and that is a no no..figured it out.
