Access DataBase on PocketPC

Hello,

In eVB I made a simple application for my PocketPC (2003) that made
connection with a (converted) access database. I'm now trying to write the
same application in VB.NET. I just can't figure out how to make the
connection with the database. I tried connecting with the use of a
connection-string, but it seems this is not supported for writing
applications for a SmartDevice. The syntax "Imports System.Data.Ole Db" is
also not allowed for a SmartDevice application. Can someone give me a clue
please.......

Gray,

Although this is not the wrong newsgroup for your question do you have in my
opinion more change in these newsgroups.

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.framew ork.compactfram ework
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.framew ork.adonet

I know at least one guy who is active in both newsgroups so do not
multipost, then people will not be happy crosspost it, one message to both
newsgroups in one time.

Hello, Currently I used Biomobility's DataOnTheRun for the Pocket PC. It's a little slow, but it does exactly what I need -- and it does it well. Unfortunately, now I need to have the same thing for the Palm OS and, unfortunately, DataOnTheRun is Pocket PC only. Can anyone please point me to reviews of such software? There seem to be dozens of these kinds of tools, but no where to go to research the differences.

I have an existing application I'm porting to the Windows PC and PocketPC platforms. The UI will be designed from scratch using Visual Studio .NET tools and C#, but key pieces are written in C++. I've read that .NET 2003 only supports PocketPC with C# and VB, not C++. For C++ the eMbedded tools must be used. However, ideally I'd like one code base and tool chain for the PocketPC and PC platforms. Therefore, the question is this: How do...

Hi all, I have a situation at work where I need to connect a Palm to an SQL Server or Access database. I'm a bit stuck as to how to proceed. I have scoped an XML client/server architecture to deal with this, however I don't want the server side to actually have IIS so Web services are out. An alternative is to use the webservices2 dll which I have downloaded and can manage a SOAP client and SOAP server interconnection on a standard app,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
