Hi all, I need to make a function that convert a string into a certain
format. Here what are the restriction:
-The first letter of the first and last name must be uppercase.
-If a first name contains only 1 character, a '.' must follow the char.
-If we find a character that isn't a letter (.&*-), we must swap it for a
'/' and
add the correct spaces.
I tried making a function but my switch seems to have an error. If anyone

Hi,
I'm re-writing some code that had relied on some platform/third-party
dependent utility functions, as I want to make it more portable.
Is there a standard C/C++/stl routine for changing an stl string to all
lowercase?
(I know how to do it manually, but in the interests of portability...)
Thanks
Steve

How do I convert existing lowercase data to uppercase in Access 2000? I used the following which did not work?
UPDATE HousingTowns
SET tMunis=UPPER(tMunis);
"HousingTowns" is the table name.
"tMunis" is the field name in which the lowercase text is stored in 154 000 rows.
I get the error message "Undefined function 'UPPER' in expression".

Hi everyone, I am required to write a standard C function to import the single character variable and return the lowercase version of the character
int upper_to_lower ( char singlecharacter )
{
if ( ( singlecharacter >= 'A' ) && ( singlecharacter <= 'Z' ) )
{
// returning the uppercase version here
}

I have a table the contains field called PersonID. Each record in the
personID field begins with the letter "p" in uppercase or lowercase. I
want to run a query that finds all of the lowercase "p"s and converts
them to uppercase. I cannot figure out how to do this easily as there
are over 30,000+ records. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

In VB.NET 2005 can I check if a letter in a string is upper case or lower
case ?
For example:
I have the following 2 lines:
NQ,Z2003,11/11/2003,1416.5,1420,1402,1411.5
NQ,z2003,11/10/2003,223801,260154
NQ,H2004,11/11/2003,1416.5,1422.5,1406.5,1415
NQ,h2004,11/10/2003,56,1191
Notice the 1st line has uppercase Z (Z2003) and the 2nd line has lowercase z

Concerning program startup in a hosted environment, both C90 and C99 require
that the implementation provide main's ``argv'' strings in lowercase if the
host environment is not capable of supply both uppercase and lowercase
letters.
While I hesitate to mention any specific platform in this query -- presuming
such an implementation capable of only uppercase letters, what is the
reason for the C language's ensuring that the strings, if...

I have an access mailing list. I received it in UPPERCASE and have been able to change the 1st letter to UPPERCASE and the rest to lowercase except that in Proper Names like McDonald, McInnis, they come out as Mcdonald or Mcinnis. I have tried to modify my query to accommodate this; however, unsuccessfully. Here is my query, and wondering how I could change it to accommodate my problem:
UPDATE SET .LastName = StrConv(,3), .FirstName =...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
