At&T Considers Linux - Beginning of the end for Microsoft

Here is the story from Linux.org:
http://www.linux.org/news/2004/10/05/0009.html

I just want to know what everyone thinks on the issue. What will all of us
VB developers do, there isn't much of an equivalent language in Linux?

Any comments?

That's all very OT, and I am not sure if your post was a troll post...

Sorry for the English. I mean, when building my applications, I often need to do several database actions, and I'm thinking, what's better? 1) Open connection with DB, for instance mySQL, at beginning and close at the end, so every "unit" in the code knows that THIS IS the connection, and its opened. OR

....open Windows's Calc? I want to integrate a shortcut to Windows Calc in my application. Ok, it seems quite str8 forward: 1. put a button / link label, whatever on a form 2. grab Calc's icon from system32\calc.exe and attach it to the button, etc, if needed. 3. Call Process.Start("calc.exe") when the button is clicked. Anyway, I wonder how a guy at MS would: 1. Get Calc's icon. That is, is there another way of "stealing" the

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
