Diagramming Component

I'm looking for a .NET diagramming component to draw process flowsheets in a
WinForms app. My first idea was to use the Visio ActiveX drawing control,
which has proven to be kludgy at best. I've also looked at two purely .NET
components, Syncfusion's Essential Diagram and Northwoods GoDiagram.
Syncfusion's is very buggy and its "custom symbols" are rather cumbersome to
design. Northwoods seems to be my choice so far, but I'm wondering if there
are others people have used and like for whatever reason or another. Cost
is somewhat of a concern, looking for something in the $1-2K range.

Thanks

Hi Dave

I have used AddFlow by Patrick Lassalle:

www.lassalle.com

It is very flexible, and well within the $1-2k target.

Hello All, I am creating a visual programming environment for python (similar to Matlab's simulink, but for python). For several reasons I have decided not to go with OGL. I am writing a wxOGL replacement library for wxPython. My first thought was to create an exact drop in replacement for OGL, but the more I look at the OGL api the more I hesitate to do it.

I'm wanting to fish for some (any) advice on finding a diagramming widget for Python (Linux platform). The application I have in mind is to have the user construct simple networks in a GUI, somewhat similar to the Overflow/FlowDesigner application (http://flowdesigner.sourceforge.net/), and have some analysis performed on it. I need such functionality as (e.g.): creating boxes, circles, circles with squares in them, grouping, zooming,...

I am looking for diagramming software that has an API. I need to dynamically generate and update legal entity organization charts, and I definately don't want to create something from scratch. Any suggestions? Does anyone have experience with MS Visio in this context? Thanks, Johnny Meredith

MS has made many, many $millions selling Access as part of Office Pro. There's no excuse for it not to have a better ER diagramming component, so that when you talk to clients or work with other IT people you have something more than the amateurish model currently produced. Those interested should send a request to support@microsoft.com and ask them to include some of the Visio ER diagramming features in Access (download 189mb Visio...

How does one specify in a component that a property is a pointer to another component ? How is this different from a property that is actually an embedded component ? Finally how is one notified in a component when another component is destroyed ? I have a managed component called P. Let us say that C is another managed component. If on P I have: __property C * get_CComp(); __property void set_CComp(C *);

The definition of a component model I use below is a class which allows properties, methods, and events in a structured way which can be recognized, usually through some form of introspection outside of that class. This structured way allows visual tools to host components, and allows programmers to build applications and libraries visually in a RAD environment. The Java language has JavaBeans as its component model which allows Java...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
