Using Active Directory groups in my code...

Hey everyone. I am designing a new application that has a need for several
different permission sets, ie., which functions of the app are turned on
based on who you are. I would like to reference active directory groups for
these permissions instead of using some contrived login/logout system and
storing permission sets. This would require me to both reference AD groups
for users and get the user's currently logged in information.

Anyone know where I can get some info on doing this on MSDN or have any code
snippits to assist? I am using VB.Net 2K3.

Thanks!
Derek

Derek,

It is using LDAP, not easy to find on MSDN,

Here a page
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;326340

Maybe you can use that for a start

I am list groups of a user from active directory. I get the list but if i remove the user from one of the groups and again list the groups it still includes the groups from the the user was actually removed. I tried DirectoryEntry.RefreshCache method. But the...

I found a file on the web that will allow you to enumerate groups but it was an .hta and the top level admins won't allow this. I need to give managers access to the groups so that when a new user is created they can tell me who they want their account to be modeled after. The html app works great as a .hta file but when it is saved as a web page it won't list the members of any groups. I get an error on line 182: "ActiveX component can't create...

I have been toying with the idea of having an Active Directory authentication / authorisation functionality in MS Access; but there is not much useful info around. I have built these functionalities for some applications (JAVA, PHP). The parameters used there are the LDAP parameters for AD: *searchFilter: (objectClass=user) *searchBase: OU=register,OU=applications,DC=inside,DC=mycompany,DC=com *adminPassword: Password

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
