Hi,
I have one weakly named(i.e. not strong named) assembly/xyz.dll. And other
strong named assemblies/.dll. I have found that I can't use weakly named
assembly with strong named assembly.
How can I convert weekly named assembly to strong named assembly. Or other
possible way.
One more question: If I create assembly for C# with strong name. Can some
one else, who is not using strong name, will be able to use it in his C#

When I try to use strongly named assembly1 that references
non-strongly named assembly2 I get the following error:
"The located assembly '<assembly2 name>' is not strongly named."
How can I force strongly named assembly1 to reference non-strongly named
assembly2 ?

Hi,
I have an ASP.NET Web Application which uses a number of controls in an
external strongly named assembly.
Whenever I view a page that uses one of the controls within the strongly
named assembly a FileLoadException is thrown, saying that "The located
assembly's manifest definition with name 'CentaurNet.Web.Controls' does not
match the assembly reference".

When I build a C# class and install it in the GAC, my code works as it
should, my .aspx code finds the DLL and can run a static method:
<%@ Assembly Name="AutoCoder, Culture=neutral,
Version=1.0.1922.22245, PublicKeyToken=0a4067d718757385" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="AutoCoder" %>
Trace.Write( "AutoCoder", AutoCoder.Common.GetConnectionString( )) ;
But I cant locate the assembly in its directory using the src=
property.

The changes to asp.net makes it very difficult for us to migrate one of
our web projects to 2.0 and makes deployments more difficult for us.
It seems that the new Asp.net model is only designed to place
assemblies in the bin directory of the application. For our
application, we need to deploy to the GAC.
We have customized a SharePoint portal and have put in our own pages
and controls (both user and custom) into SharePoint pages. ...

Hello All,
I am trying to add an assembly to GAC but having difficult time figuring out
the concept of GAC. This is what I am trying to do....
1. Installed NUnit framework whose DLL ("nunit.framework.dll") I need to add
to the GAC so that I can use it from multiple applications.
2. Used the command "sn" to verify that the assembly is already strongly
named. Concluded that NUnit assembly is strongly named.

I have built a managed wrapper class and assembly that expose much
functionality available in unmanaged legacy DLLs. I can write VB apps that
interface with the managed assembly, and the managed assembly makes calls to
the legacy dlls. All seems to work fine when the assembly is a private
assembly. When I go through the process of strong naming the assembly and
placing it into the GAC, none of my VB apps will initialize. I have gone to...

Hi,
I have a C++ managed assembly (.dll) which links to a bunch of native
libraries. Everything works fine if I don't make the managed assembly a
strongly named one.
Once I make it a strongly named assembly by adding the following attribute:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
