Is there a human readable dump format for objects ? As opposed to pickling ?
It doesn't necessarily have to be XML - in fact i'd prefer if it wasn't ;) -
but ISTR an XML dump library.

Greetings,
Having a major problem here. running version 8.2 on win2003 server.
The problem I am having is backing up a database seems to get to the
last part of the backup and then fails. This brings the whole instance
down and it has to be restarted. In addition the job seems to be stuck
in the TOOLSDB as if I try to delete the backup job I get "The task is
currently running". So I went to the command line and tried "db2

Hi,
I was wondering if someone might be able to provide some guidance on
how I could make an http request from a C# library.
Basically I have a library which accepts a couple of arguments that I
use to construct a dynamic http URL address. I wan't to then make a
call to this address, capture the data stream it returns, and return
that to the application which called the library. I know how to do
most everything but I'm not sure how...

I have an application written in C# that creates a queue of items to
process, connects via a TCP connection to a server on a Unix box, and
then passes data files to the Unix box for processing (cluster) -
normally this works fine. However, on the front end, another Unix
system generates and transfers files to the DotNet application
(Management system/controller) and recently I've witnessed the
following:
1) Unix Box "A" generates data...

Hi all,
I need some help with debugging a "deadlock" in a production
environment. I've managed to get a crash dump and have tried to
analyzed it via WinDbg and SOS. Unfortunately, I am not skilled enough
in debugging to pinpoint the exact problem; however, I have narrowed it
down to the garbage collection process. All threads seem to be waiting
for the GC to complete; when the process hangs, ASPNET_WP.EXE is taking
up 100% cpu.

I have a large dump file that originated in a MySQL db; I need to get
it into an SQLite file.
Various options are suggested around the web; none of them seem to
work (most failing to import the thing in the first place). So I
removed the assorted taggery from each end, leaving just a big text
file taking the following format:
('value', 'value', 'value, 'value'),
('value','value','value','value')...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
