Please HELP .. instance crash ver 8.2

Greetings,
Having a major problem here. running version 8.2 on win2003 server.
The problem I am having is backing up a database seems to get to the
last part of the backup and then fails. This brings the whole instance
down and it has to be restarted. In addition the job seems to be stuck
in the TOOLSDB as if I try to delete the backup job I get "The task is
currently running". So I went to the command line and tried "db2
backup database dvdbse to \\uncpathname" and I get a instance crash.
The problem began running it from task center and the db2diag log that
is below is from running from the command line afterwards:
Thanks in advance!!

Ok I fixed my own problem.. I dropped the database. The backup job was
still stuck in Task Center as being in progress. I went through every
table in the TOOLSDB and deleted any row referencing the particular
taskid and that got rid of the job. Restored the DB from a pre-backup
of installing fp7. This has seemed to correct the issue. I did figure
out it was only the one db that would crash the instance. I am not
sure if the task being in progress in the toolsdb caused the problem
or if something did not go right with the fp7 install as this was all
working prior to installing fp7. Just a FYI..
Thanks,
MM

Is it possible that construction of a global instance can fail? I'm suspecting this because the program seems to crash before main(). Is it a better practice to declare a pointer for the object and then use 'new' to create an instance?
