Show Start Menu?

I'd like to have a button on my form that will show a
menu from the user's Programs tree (off the Start button).
I want it to be the same menu the user sees when they
traverse their own Programs menu. Also, I'd like to
know which item the user selects on that (or deeper)
menu.

Basically I have very deep menus off the Start button
and I am looking to provide a few buttons as shortcuts
to some of the deeper menus. When they hit the button,
I want the menu to show, and when they select an item I
want to grab the icon from that item to show it on the
button. (as a most recently used reminder)

Also, I noticed the browse for folders dialog only shows
folders under the user's own (private) 'Start Menu' folder,
and not any from the All Users folder. Is there a way to
show them all in the browse dialog?

(Using VS 2003 on W2K)

Any hints, links, or assistance would be appreciated....

Thanks!
LFS

I've been trying to clean up the installer I created using vb 2005 as best as possible to finalize a project I am working on. I have my installer deploying a .pdf file in the application folder. I do this by right clicking on the .pdf file that I have included on the setup project in the application folder of the files system editor and making a shortcut. After that I...

I'm working on a menu system where I have a 3 column table affair. On start, you see a menu list in column 1. Column2 will have some general information. Column3 is an iframe for final data input. About every damn thing I've seen on how to do this is the pure bare bones basics. That is, click button 1 to hide, click button 2 to show. Not what I want. Or, they simply toggle a division below the "switch".

good evening, I am trying to allow my users to enter in text if they don't find their option on my drop down menu. In the code below, I can get a text box to show up when I select 'Other' on the drop down menu. However, I cannot get it to work when I try to select 'Other' on the second drop down menu. Any ideas about how I can start getting the second drop down menu to show a text box just like the first one does? Also, how do I get the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
