Yesterday I received a response to my CI/CS Collation problem and the
recommendation was to try and restore a CI Collation database to a CS
Collation database. After creating a blank CS database a full restore
(Force restore over existing database) does change the Collation to
CI. I'm unsure as to how I can restore without changing the
Collation. Any suggestions?

We have a linked server, which worked fine, but we have just changed
the collation sequence, in SQL-Server, from
SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS to Latin1_General_CI_AS.
Now trying to use the Linked server, we get the following message:
"Error 7399: OLE DB Provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error. The provider
did not give any information about the error. OLE DB error trace ."

My client has a need to be able to store Japanese characters in their
PeopleSoft database. So we need to change the character set from from
Latin1_General (1252) to Japanese character set (932) on SQL Server
2000 Enterprise. I have 2 questions:

We need to install CI database on CS server, and there are some issues
with stored procedures.
Database works and have CI collation (Polish_CI_AS). Server has
coresponding CS collation (Polish_CS_AS). Most queries and procedures
works but some does not :-(
We have table Customer which contains field CustomerID.
Query "SELECT CUSTOMERID FROM CUSTOMER" works OK regardless of

A few collation questions on SQL Server 2005 SP2, which I'll call SQLS.
The default collation for SQLS is apparently SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.
I wish to use a variation of this, SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AI
collation, but there is no such collation returned from
fn_helpcollations(). Also, if I try to use this collation in
a CREATE DATABASE stmt, SQLS yells about it.
