Hi,
I have a form, and I would like it to act a bit like the taskbar, so that
the icons in the desktop, won't hide under it, but instead move away from
under the form.
Is this possible with vb.net?
Hope it makes sense ;)

I am creating an active desktop for my office ( A webpage that sits on
everyone's desktop, but doesn't have all of the features of a browser
window). It includes two frames: one for a menu, another for content.
One of the features I would like to have in the menu is a form that
will make the content frame visit the site entered into this form. How
do I do this.
I really appreciate your help.

Hi,
I would like to know if it's still possible on Windows 2000 or XP to create
a "Desktop Taskbar Application" (An application who attach it-self to the
edges of the Desktop screen) in VB.NET or C#
I know how to do it with the WIN32 API. the following link show how to do
it: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;134206
According to this article (Q134206), it's the Windows Explorer shell of 95,

Extracting an Icon and Placing It On The Desktop (C# Language)
I constructed a suite of programs in C++ several years ago that handle my
financial portfolio, and now I have converted them to C#. The only
significant problem that I have encountered in the conversion is this one -
extracting an icon from the 'KTEntryPoint' program into the software suite
and placing that icon on the PC Desktop.

I have a form which I want to dock to the side of a monitor (left or
right), but I do not want the form to be covered by any other apps, I need
to know how to control the desktop so that when my app runs it loads this
form, and basically takes that space away from the desktop so other apps do
not use it. Can anyone help or point me in the right directction ?
TIA

Hello,
How can I create a new window which acts like a Desktop?
I've done taskbar (with edge docking) and desktop windows, but when I start
OS (I've modified windows registry "HKLM\Software\...\winlogon\userinit" to
start with my application), all programs opened from the new Desktop which
are maximized don't stretch their size and cover desktop and takbar window.
If application run like a independent application, works fine, and all...

Hi,
I have on form MenuBar, Toolbar, and Grid control.
Form property is set to form opens as Maximized.
Form maximizes through whole screen, but I don't see bottom part of grid,
because TaskBar (of Windows) is above grid. Why form maximizes below
Taskbar?
How to maximize form so that form is resized to Taskbar, but not further,
because bottom part of form will be below Taskbar?

Hi,
How do I detect when a form is minimizing? specifically when a user clicks
the show desktop button on the taskbar, rather than the minimize button on a
form.
thanks in advance

I created a demo program with a status bar & status bar label on the form.
When the program runs, it's maximized. When I move the mouse over the form, I
can see the X & Y coordinates changing on the status bar label. Here's the
problem. I have a 19" LCD monitor with a resolution of 1280 by 1024. When the
program runs & the mouse is in the upper-left corner, the X & Y coordinates
are 0,0. When the mouse is in the lower-right corner, the X &...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
