How to create an "Desktop Taskbar Application"

Hi,

I would like to know if it's still possible on Windows 2000 or XP to create
a "Desktop Taskbar Application" (An application who attach it-self to the
edges of the Desktop screen) in VB.NET or C#

I know how to do it with the WIN32 API. the following link show how to do
it: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;134206

According to this article (Q134206), it's the Windows Explorer shell of 95,
98 and NT4.0 who allowed this possibility. Is it still possible ?

If so, I want to go to the next level, I mean with .NET. Is there a Class
in the .NET Framework that will allow me to do that???

1. Create a new Windows Application project. 2. Open the project properties and check "Make single instance application". 3. Build. 4. Go to the release folder and run the application. 5. Try to open a second instance of the application. This will cause an unhandled exception and the "Send Error Report" box shows up. Does this happen to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
