Is it at all possible to override the default behavior of a DataGrid when the
mouse is clicked on a row? I am having a problem where I am trying to select
multiple rows in a DataGrid by left-clicking them, but each time I click
another row to add it to the selection the previously added row loses it's
highlighting, so it appears as though only one row is selected at any one
time.

I have a DataGrid web control which I've dynamically populated with
template columns to be used for bulk-editting. Generally, all of the
columns are textbox and/or dropdownlist child controls.
Currently everything is working. I can find the updated rows/columns
by parsing the posted data collection against the DataGrid DataSource.
However, when there is a large amount of DataGridItems (rows) the
update processing can take a while.

There's something I can't figure out. I added some javascript
behavior to my datagrid, just like in this article, except in
C# instead of VB:
http://www.dotnetbips.com/displayarticle.aspx?id=205
If I bind the datagrid to the dataset at all times, whether
Postback or not, then everything works fine.
However if I only bind it when Page is not Postback (just like

I currently use the datatable.ColumnChanging event to call
my data validation method in a bound datagrid (Windows not
Web). This is causing me problems since the user must
click away from the datagrid or select another cell to run
the validation.
Is there another way to call the validate of a bound
datagrid that begins when the user first starts to type
rather than when the cell is changed or the datagrid loses
focus?

My web user control (ASCX) consists of one DataGrid and several
web user controls (ASCX). On page postback, the DataGrid loses
its content: row/item information, i.e. cells text. Other user controls
(and standard controls too) do not lose theirs text.
I checked ViewState value of the page with the ViewStateDecoder (
v1.1, by Fritz Onion) and found that something wrong with ViewState.
The decoder raises an error:
There was an error...

I have a DataGrid in a web form (ASP1.1, C#, VS 2003) that I'm trying to add
some functionality to, and I can't figure out how to do int.
The existing DataGrid has several databound columns and a Template Columns,
into which I put buttons. When the user clicks on the 'Do It' button, the
selection is recorded in an underlying database, and (almost) everything is
fine. One thing I would like to improve in the existing version concerns...

I am using the ItemDataBound event on the datagrid to place relevant images
in the grid. However, when I press any button on the form which fires a
postback the state of the grid is kept but the images no longer appear as
the ItemDataBound event is no longer fired. The solution to this is to
refresh the grid with the original data using the page load event after
postback but then it loses the data that the user has already typed into the...

I want to build a windows application that has a datagrid filled with
data. When a person modifies information on a single cell, it updates
the database without the user having to click on a save button.
Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?
Thanks,
Sean

I have a Datagrid that is bound to a Datatable at runtime. I allow the
user to select a number of rows using the mouse and then click a button
that says "check selected rows", which then cycles through the selected
rows and sets a check box field in the datagrid (and thus the databound
datatable) to checked/true. It works like this:
Dim cel As DataGridViewCheckBoxCell
For Each row In DataGrid.SelectedRows
cel = row.Cells(0)
cel.Value =...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
