Upgrade Error

Hey Group,

I have a VB6 Project im trying to use with VB.Net, It lets me open it and
the Upgrade Wizard Launches I click next Select EXE and Click Next Again,
the it errors with:

"Upgrade Failed: Exception Error Occurred: Invalid System Configuration
(Unable to Locate Micorosoft.Visu alBasic.Upgrade Extensions.dll. Please
re-run Setup and try again."

I`ve re-installed VS, i`ve even resorted to setting up a new PC and
installing it on that but to no avail.

Is this a noted problem, does anybody know?

Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

This won't help you, but the file is also not on my machine, despite the
wizard works.

....

Ummmm, are you sure it's "Micorosoft " - or with one "o" only? With one o,
the file is located in

Programm Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vb7\VBUpgr ade

Do you have it there also or is it missing? The files I have in the

Have you tried running filemon and regmon while trying an upgrade? Both
available from www.sysinternals.com and will hopefully give you more
information on what's going missing.

When I run the vstudio.net upgrade wizard on a VB6 project, it bombs with the following error: "Upgrade failed: Exception occurred: The referenced component ListView is missing a design time license." Do I really have to install VB6 on my vstudio.NET workstation in order to upgrade VB6 projects? Won't this install lots of VB6 junk on my system that I'll never use? I really hope there's another way...especially since ListView...

Hi, I have had a site working for the last 2 years and have had no problems until at the weekend I replace my database server with a newer one. I am working on a project "ABC" which needs to be upgraded from .NET framework 1.1. We are thinking about upgrading it to .NET framework 2.0. Now to have the compatibility, forcibly project ABC also have decided to upgrade to .NET 2.0. But I feel why not...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
