I have a VB windows forms application that accesses a Microsoft Access
database that has been secured using user-level security. The
application is being deployed using No-Touch deployment. The objective
in utilizing this new deployment method is to reduce the maintenance
overhead as well as making it easier for my users to setup and run the
application initially. I have VS 2002, Windows XP, Access XP(2000
format).

I am about to release the second version of a program that I started writing
12 months ago. The first version worked fine on 98 upwards. This version
seems to crash on Windows 98. I realise that this is a bit vague, but anyone
any broad guidance as to how I might go about sorting this one?? To make
matters worse, It seems to work fine on a Windows 98 machine home - loaded
onto 2 at this other site with dotnet framework and it crashes. The...

I have my windows authentication on our intranet set up as:
<authentication mode="Windows"/>
This works for 15 machines at work fine. Doesn't ask you to logon. It uses
the logon credentials the user used to logon originally
There are 4 machines that it asks for logon credentials (even though they
have already logged on). Obviously, the credentials are valid or they
wouldn't be able to log on to their local machines.

Hi guys!
I have written a .NET application that uses WMI to iterate through CD
drives, in order to detect whether a certain CD has been loaded into the CD
Drive.
When the application starts up, I run a basic WMI query to check whether WMI
is installed.
Clearly, there are some issues with older versions of Windows not having WMI

I have a question regarding a VB.NET 2003 application which was built
on a Windows XP machine with Office 2002 installed. The software does
some interfacing with Microsoft Excel. I now want to run this
application on a Windows 2000 machine with Office 2003 installed.
However, it is not functioning correctly. The application DOES work
on a Windows XP machine running Office 2003. I am referencing the
"Microsoft Excel 10.0 Object...

In trunk of the svn there is a folder called PCbuild. Now lets say that
I am running linux on my Personal Computer and want to build python. I
go into the PCbuild directory, but wait. This is for windows not for any
personal computer.
Calling Windows PC seems to be something that Apple did so they would
not have to directly mention Windows. Could all the places that say PC
that are not referring to Personal Computers in general be...

Hi,
My web application is running on 5000 different machines. For example, if i have to know who are all the clients which are using my application, what would be my appoach?
Correct me if iam wrong, but I came up with an idea of installing a windows service on each of the client machines whichever are using my .net application. This way I can perform a check on all those machines having the windows service up & running.
At my server, I...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
