Hey folks -
I have some VBA code for creating a row and related sub-rows from a 'wizard'
form.
I'm using sql 'INSERT' statements to create the rows.
My problem is that I need to get the autonumber id field from the parent
table to properly insert the rows in the subtable. PHP has a function for
MySQL called mysql_last_id(). Is there...

I am trying to create a db for service providers by county. I'm relatively
new to db programming, but I have done quite a bit of programming ranging
from the old basic days up to doing some programming in the HotDocs
software. I've kind of accomplished my goal in access, but I'm not quite
there yet and figure I've really screwed something...

Is there an easy way in ASP/VBscript to grab an autonumber (primary
key) field just after an SQL insert? This is probably easy, but I'm
stuck ..
Cheers.

I have created a SQL string the properly inserts a record in the table.
However, the insert does not occur at the end of the table. Instead
it inserts a record after the last record that I viewed. This would be
OK, except it assigns a autonumber to be one greater than the last
viewed record. This causes a duplicate autonumber. I know I...

Suppose, in a multi-user environment, you
have append query SQL in a VBA procedure
that looks like INSERT INTO MyTable...
and the next line reads MyVar=DMax("","MyTable...
You can never be certain that MyVar will be
set to the key-field value that was created
when the Append query ran. Now, there are
other ways to do it - I know - that...

In a ASP applicatiuon, the FOrm has a textbox & a select list where
the admin can select multiple options. Basically the admin has to
enter the name of a new coach in the textbox & select the soccer clubs
which he will be coaching; thus he can select only one soccer club for
a new coach or multiple soccer clubs.
This is how I am trying it:...

Hi,
Is there an "easy" way to write a full record (all fields) using "INSERT
INTO..." into a table which has an AutoNumber field?
Normally, to write a full new record I would use:
INSERT INTO VALUES (Value1, Value2, ...);
If (say) the first field (Value1) is an AutoNumber, what value can you put
that will preserve the auto-increment...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
