Remoting Excel problems

I am an engineering student new to Visual Basic.Net programming. I am remoting to Excel from a Windows form and I am having some problems when I run my application on a computer that has a different version of Excel than what I have. I am working with Excel 2003 (referencing 11.0 object library) and when I run it on a computer with Excel 2000, it throws the following error message..

"File or assembly name Microsoft.Offic e.Interop.Excel , or one of its dependencies, was not found

The details section is quite a bit longer and I won't put it in for times sake. The program code works fine when the computer has XL 2003, so I know that it is not the code. I know there has to be a simple solution out there so that every computer that I run my App on won't have to have Excel 2003.

Hope somebody can help

Hello everyone, I am a plenty silly person who is trying to learn .NET remoting through trial and error (all articles I read are going over my head at the moment (mostly) so I thought i'd give it a go). What I want to do is this: Have a server instance of the program, this server instance will receive communication from client programs (as demonstrated in the AddMessage()

Hi, At the moment I am trying to develop an application that uses another app over .net remoting and having some problems with it (ok, that is ofcourse why I am here), hope somebody can shine a light on the following: I have been given a sample winforms app, which works without problem, I can connect, send queries and become response from the other application. When I try to implement this in webforms, this unfortunately does not...

Hi, in a existing application (DCOM server and client, both in VC++) we have very often problems with the DCOM-configuration. Is the requiered configuration (open ports) in applications using .NET remoting much more easier than in DCOM applications? What is with the performance, if the DCOM server has a .NET remoting object client and the DCOM client (VC++) uses the .NET remoting object as the server?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
