Is there a function which takes string converts it to decimal WITHOUT rounding ?

eg. "19.121" to 19.12 decimal
eg. "12.567 " to 12.56 decimal

CobraStrikes,
Which version of VS.NET are you using?

VS.NET 2003 (.NET 1.1) will give the following:

Decimal.Parse(" 19.121") will give you 19.121 decimal
Decimal.Parse(" 12.567 " ) will give you 12.567 decimal

Notice the 3 decimal places.

I seem to remember that by default VS.NET 2002 (.NET 1.0) will by default
display 2 decimal places on the Decimal, while VS.NEt 2003 (.NET 1.1) gives
you all the decimals the Decimal contains...

Hope this helps
Jay

I know this is a trivial function, and I've now spent more time searching for a surely-already-reinvented wheel than it would take to reinvent it again, but just in case... is there a published, open-source, function out there that takes a string in the form of "hh:mm:ss" (where hh is 00-23, mm is 00-59, and ss is 00-59) and converts it to an integer (ss + 60 * (mm + 60 * hh))? I'd like something that throws an exception if hh, mm, or ss...

----------------------------------------------------------------------- FAQ Topic - How do I convert a Number into a String with exactly 2 decimal places? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- When formatting money for example, to format 6.57634 to 6.58, 6.5 to 6.50, and 6 to 6.00? Rounding of x.xx5 is uncertain, as such numbers are not represented exactly.

The following function converts a decimal number representing a color stored in the way that Microsoft windows stores colors (low byte is red), and converts it to a hex string which is needed for web applications, namely "#RRGGBB". function decimalColorToHTMLcolor(number) { //converts to a integer var intnumber = number - 0; // isolate the colors - really not necessary var red, green, blue;

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
