Class Attributes Info?

I'm new to the .NET world and am in the process of learning about VB.NET classes. I've tried to find information on class attributes (overview, when/why to use them, etc.) but every link from MSDN says "page not found".

Can anyone point me to basic information on class attributes or is there some reason why it's not on MSDN?

l/cpconattributes overview.asp is a good place to start and if you really
want to learn about them.... Jason Bock and Tom Barnaby wrote a book on
Applied .NET Attributes that's a great read.

I have a set of classes that describe Files, Folders, etc., that I use often in my scripts for moving files around, getting a files extension, converting paths, changing permissions, etc It's very similar to Jason Orendorff's 'Path' library, and is very useful to me. The base class 'Data.py' stores all the basic attributes of any piece of data on disk, and it is then subclassed to represent files and folders with the attributes specific...

Background: I am trying to "merge" some attributes into an existing XML column in my MS SQL 2005 database. The general idea is that I have an XML column in a table and I would like to update/delete some values while leaving the other values alone. I am designing this database/table/column so maybe I could use attributes or elements/nodes, the choice is ultimately mine. The one constraint is that I have to allow for customized name/value pairs....

hi, i am very new to python, not knowing much about good design. I have an object here for example a Customer object, where I need to retrieve a info which has a number of lines of code to get it. my question is weather what approach should I use? to use the property which is from the python new class style as I understand or simple use function that will return the the info I needed.

Hi, I'm working within an application (making a lot of wrappers), but the application is not case sensitive. For example, Typing obj.name, obj.Name, or even object.naMe is all fine (as far as the app is concerned). The problem is, If someone makes a typo, they may get an unexpected error due accidentally calling the original attribute instead of the wrapped version. Does anyone have a simple solution for this?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
