Before i post actual code, as i need a speedyish reply. Can i first ask if anyone knows off the top of their head, if there is a likely obvious cause to the following problem. For the moment i've reduced my form request to a simple text string entry, instead of my desired optional parameters. As i have been stuck with a single unfathomable glitch for over a year. Basically, if i enter queries such as ; "select * from table" "select * from...

Hi, We are planning to have "lecture preparation" discussions in comp3141 at UNSW, where anyone can participate -- not only students taking the subject. There is a heavy python component in this class and I was wondering whether anyone is interested in participating in these discussions. We are looking for both python beginners and experts.

WEBoggle needs a new game board every three minutes. Boards take an unpredictable (much less than 3min, but non-trivial) amount of time to generate. The system is driven by web requests, and I don't want the request that happens to trigger the need for the new board to have to pay the time cost of generating it. I set up a producer thread that does nothing but generate boards and put them into a length-two Queue (blocking). At the rate...

Hi, does anyone know of any *good* "job board" software which is available for purchase/ download. I did look @ the jobboard available from Ibuyspysolutions but do not really want to have to implement the IBuySpy portal just for a job board and to be honest, it looks quite horrible. I don't mind paying some $$ at all but I would like it to be "open source" Any recommendations?

I'm programming for a CE device with reduced key board, no mouse, and no touch screen. As such, I have to tab from button to button to get the focus on the button i want. Then to invoke the button with focus i have to hit two keys on the key board to send a space in order to "click" the button. I want to just hit one key, the enter key, instead. So, how do i trap the enter and turn it into a space? I tried putting the following code in...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
