Hi all,
I have run into a problem that I can't quite figure out.
Here is the situation:
I have to capture a signature from a WebForm. (The ASP.NET application is running on a TabletPC)
Currently only an ActiveX control is available for WebForms, so I embedded it using the "<object>" tag.

I have a DataList control that has an Image control in the ItemTemplate. I
would like to resize the image that goes into that control. I have a series
of jpg files that are full size, full resolution (ie. large). I have a
database that contains references to the pictures. Currently I have to
resize the jpgs manually, and then point the ImageUrl property at that jpg
using databinding. This works fine. I would like to avoid the resizing step...

I want to insert (or not insert) a Macromedia Flash object on my ASP.NET .ASPX page. What is the most elegant way of doing this? I know that I could use an <ASP:Literal> control and just spit the <OBJECT> tag text out to the browser (or not if I don't want to present the Flash movie). Is there another way? Is there an ASP.NET "OBJECT" Web Control??

When embedding a windows media player wmv video into a Web page like
at http://www.marcfest.com/temp/embedvideotest.html, I want the first
or so frame of the video to show on loading of the page, before one
starts playing the video, rather than the black square currently
shown. How can I accomplish this? I thought of using Javascript to
tell Media Player to play the video for a fraction of a second after
the page is loaded and then pause...

Hi all,
I'm developping a project which you can see a video stream in a panel
(like webcam). I am using DirectShowNet library to see the render, and
it works correctly. But i need to compress the video stream in live
with a codec (codec developped in C). Problem is that i don't know how
to read the stream and sending to my codec. I was thinking that i can
have a stream which have the same structure like an avi movie... If

i wrote an application in c++ that capture a motion from a bmp
sequence and outputs a 3DS max secript file contains the motions keys.
i have two points here need to be fixed:
1- it is an offline application, ie. you take a movie file, convert it
to a sequence of 16color BMPs with adobe premiere for example. to
imporve, we should let it read the video stream directly from a webcam
for example and detect motion directly from it.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
