'Morning,
Within the next few months, I'm going to embark upon a comparatively
rather large base of JavaScript code to be called from a web browser
environment. Not too awfully huge, but probably between 10K and 15K
LoC. Having seen only the kinds of scripts that support interactive web
pages, I'm dreading trying to stretch JavaScript...

I am able to run a query which runs FAst in QA but slow in the
application. It takes about 16 m in QA but 1000 ms on the
Application. What I wanted to know is why would the query take a long
time in the application when it runs fast on SQL server?
How should we try debugging it?

I have developed an ASP.net application using the latest beta release
(version 2 beta 2)of dot net using Visual studio .net express edition. I
have been testing the application using the debugger and built in web
browser, and it works fine on it. But now that I have copied the contents to
an IIS 5.1 Server the application runs dead...

Hi all,
We've just migrated to IIS 6.0 / Windows Server 2003. We are now
experiencing some stability problem what we did not experience in IIS
5.0 / Windows 2000 Server. Our ASP.NET application is running in a
web-farm environment of multiple web servers. We have been using
"Performance Monitor" to monitor the "Requests in Application...

Okay, here is what's happening:
I have a reasonably fast laptop (1.4 GHz Mobile M, so comparable to 2.5GHz
P4) doing .net development.
Running Windows XP pro, SP2
IIS is installed and running fine
All SQL Servers I am referring to share a small (10 computers or so) LAN
with a 100MB Switch.
No other computers on the LAN exhibit this...

Hi:
We developed a set of ASP.NET Web Applications that never runs in
stand-alone mode, but always inside a portal (Rainbow Portal). All modules
are copied on that portal.
My question is: load time takes, sometimes, three or four of minutes in
a medium-level machine (a PIII 1.5 Ghz), when the binary contents are
changed, or if the time of...

Hi,
I'm having serious issues with our user defined functions. They get
very slow after a while. The functions I use have several IF-branches
which check input parameters. Always exactly one branch will be
executed.
Normally, the execution time of my functions is something like 300ms.
After a while though, it climbs up to 20 seconds (!!)....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
