Process Thread Count Query in WMI

Hi,
I'm trying to use a WMI script in a VB.NET application to query for a
perticular process running and return it's threadcount to the
application.

I was hoping I could simply substitute:
SELECT * FROM Win32_Process WHERE NAME = 'ZTOPTASK'
in the place of the Win32_NetworkAd apterConfigurat ion and change the
DNSDomain portions to if mo("ThreadCount ") > 0 then
ListBox7.Items. Insert(0, "" & mo("ThreadCount "))
Dim query As ManagementObjec tSearcher
Dim queryCollection As ManagementObjec tCollection
Dim co As ConnectionOptio ns
Dim oq As System.Manageme nt.ObjectQuery
Dim ms As System.Manageme nt.ManagementSc ope
Dim mo As ManagementObjec t
Dim strComputerName , strQuery As String

strComputerName = ComboBox2.Text

strQuery = "SELECT * FROM Win32_NetworkAd apterConfigurat ion"

co = New ConnectionOptio ns()
ms = New System.Manageme nt.ManagementSc ope("\\" +
strComputerName + "\root\cimv 2", co)
oq = New System.Manageme nt.ObjectQuery( strQuery)
query = New ManagementObjec tSearcher(ms, oq)

queryCollection = query.Get()

For Each mo In queryCollection
If mo("DHCPEnabled ") = "True" And mo("DNSDomain" ) <> ""
Then
ListBox7.Items. Insert(0, "" & mo("DNSDomain") )
End If

'If mo("DNSDomain" ) = "" Then
'Else
' ListBox7.Items. Insert(0, "" & mo("DNSDomain") )
'End If

Next

End Sub

Hi guys I have a time critical process, running on a worker thread. By "time critical", I mean that certain parts of the process must be completed in a specific time frame. The time when the process starts is not especially important, but it must be complete within a small number of seconds. The operations I am performing do not take a long time (hundreds of milliseconds), but as each part of the process is complete, my worker thread...

How to wait for a process to stop completion is my goal. Obviously, the looping while waiting for the HasExited property is not a solution.. but thats the best I can come up off the top of my head. Natuarally it will not work. I expect it to use up all resources looping, which will not allow the process to complete. The process takes about 60 seconds, because the .bat file it is calling is rebuilding mulitple .NET solutions and projects...

Hello, Could someone please explain why the Socket.Send is slow to send to the same process it sending from. Eg. Process1 calls Socket.Send which sends to the same IP address and port, the receiver is running within Process1. If I move the receiver into Process2 then its fast. Please can someone explain.

There is two examples of code. Example 1. Send and Receive within the same process. Put this code in a console app called SendAndReceive and run the code. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Net; using System.Net.Sockets; using System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary;

hello all you gurus. I am struggling with releasing com objects. I have isolated the problem to the code below. Objects are released and the process ends until I use "int k = sheet.Count;" Then the process does not end. So I feel confident the problem occurrs here. It appears another reference is created that needs to be closed. Can anyone tell me how to do this? :) Thank you Excel.Workbook workbook =

I'm using the Application_Start event at Global.asax.cs to invoke thread that do some job. I know that Application_Start event occurs when the very first request to Web Application received. - Setting worker process count 1. Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Internet Information Services 2. Right-click on the application pool, e.g. ‘DefaultAppPool’, and select ‘Properties’

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
