listview: selected item vs. collection

In a listview (named lvwToDo), I understand how to reference a single
selected item from the SelectedItems collection, but is there a more direct
way if MultiSelect is set to false and you know there is only one item
selected? In other words, is there a better way other than the following
loop?

Dim litem As ListViewItem

For Each litem In lvwToDo.Selecte dItems
...do whatever with litem
Next

Thanks again.

If I understand you correctly, I think you could just use the
SelectedItems.C ount property..
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...classtopic.asp
and that would determine how many were selected.

Yes: Don't write a loop.
Dim litem As ListViewItem

For Each litem In lvwToDo.Selecte dItems
...do whatever with litem
Next

if lvwTodo.Selecte dItems.count=1 then
lvwTodo.Selecte dItems(0).<memb er>
end if

I have a listview that with selected items. But I want to "reselect" items after a refresh. Each items have a uniqe value in the Tag object. After a refresh some new items may be added or removed so using item index is not possible. To get the list of selected items I use: ListView.SelectedListViewItemCollection selItems = this.listView1.SelectedItems;

I have a listview control and a collection object right now that I'm trying to pass information to and from. Whenever I click on the checkbox, I want it to remove certain listview items and add them to the collection. Whenever I uncheck the checkbox, I want to add the items back into the listview from the collection, and remove them from the collection so I can do the process multiple times. The listview tag is being used as a key, so I...

Hello, I have a form that contains a listview on the left side and a column of buttons on the right side. Only some of the buttons do I want enabled all the time. The other buttons should be enabled only if something is selected in the listview. That part specifically works but not very well. It seems that I can only get the buttons to disable if I click off the text of the items in the listview but still within about 10-20 pixels of...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
