I have a function which performs a query and returns a table. The one
parameter that can get passed in is a date which defaults to NULL.
There is an IF statement in the function that will set the paramter to
an actual date if null. If I call the function while passing in a date
the function comes back a second or 2 later. But if I pass in DEFAULT
to the function, the same query takes 8 minutes. See code below and
sample call below.

I have a field (called active) of type DATE and I want to add a default

Ok I know this is simple but the statement eludes me...
I have a date field where I want the default value on the data entry form's
date field to be the last date entered. I figure I can do this with a query
but don't know what the criteria needs to be.

I have set up two date fields in a table:
1stpromisedDate and CurentPromisedDate
The first field is to record the 1st promised delivery date of a
supplier and the second is to record the current promised ate from a
supplier. In an ideal world these two dates will always be the same,
but in reality the delivery date will change. Therefore I want to set

We commonly use triggers to log changes to our main tables to
historical log tables.
In the trigger, we create a concatenated string of the old values by
casting them as follows:
CAST(O.MYDATE AS CHAR(30))
When directly updating date fields in the main table, the logged value
gets saved in the format YYYY-MM-DD as expected.

I'm seeing rather annoying behaviour when editing data in a control
with a default value. It only happens when the form is on a new
record.
A specific example: on my form, the first control is bound to a date/
time field and has a default value of now(). When users need to change
this control's data, they'll most commonly need to alter the time part

Hi all
It's me again. I now want to specify the current date in the format '26/06/2007' ie date/month/year as the default value in my mysql database. Which implies that by default the value of my date field in the database should be the current date. How can I do this in the Mysql database itself, so that each time my application is called the current date appears by default.

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to use the new VB 2008 right now and I want to know how to preset
the company name and copyright informtion in Assembly Information. In my
current VB 2005, company name and copyright information (the word "CopyRight"
with company name and year) is filled in automatically once a new project is
created. However, I have no idea where I can configurate it in my new VB
2008.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
