help file, opening & closing

hi,

how can i open and close a help file thru code?

i tried

dim procHelp as System.Diagnost ics.Process

procHelp = System.Diagnost ics.Process.Sta rt("help.hlp") , it did open

but i couldn't get it to close, when i issue procHelp.kill, it doesn't close

when i looked in the task manager i noticed that the process opens 2
processes of winhelp32, and one application of 'help.hlp'

any idea what i could do?

ray

Help.ShowHelp(M e, "Path\Filename. xxx\")<<

thanks steve, this was much simpler than what i did.

anyone out there have any idea how to close an open help file from code?

what i mainly want to accomplish is, to have the help file close when the
app that launched it closed?

how can i do that?

thanks

Speaking of trying to read deeply nested if-else blocks... I often find it's not always easy to tell one indent level from another (granted I keep my tab settings low so I'm not halfway across the page by the 3rd level), and I find myself doing things like this to help me keep it straight: class MyClass { public void SomeMethod()

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
