I'm not sure if I've broken any Object Oriented rules or not, but ...
I have projects in 2 different solutions that need to use each other's
methods. Therefore I may have an "update" method in project 1-solution A
accessing a "save" method in project 2-solution B as well as "getinfo"
method in project 2 accessing a "read" method in project A.
Is this permitted? I am getting the "dependency file in project cannot be
copied... conflict...

I'm developing a small class which will be used in a number of distinct C#
projects. This small class is undergoing constant change/refinement as I
try to employ it in the different projects.
I'm trying to maintain a *single* copy of the CS file that can be used in
the multiple .NET projects. But I'm observing that when you add a CS file
to a given .NET project, subsequent modifications to that file are only
saved in the current...

I am trying to include two class files into a web service project. The
structure I have is a top level solution and project in a folder and below
that, the web service project in it's own folder. In the top level folder I
have two class files, classA.cs and classB.cs.
In the web service project, I use Add>Existing Item... and browse to select
the files in the parent directory. Unfortunately, when I hit the Open
button in the file...

Within ASP.NET, is it possible to use a single .vb file and have it shared
(or accessed) between multiple projects without having that file being
copied to each project folder?
ie.
C:\Projects\MyProject1 (project 1)
C:\Projects\MyProject2 (project 2)
C:\Projects\CommonFiles\MyCommonFile.vb (common file directly accessed
and compiled from Project1 and Project2)

I have a couple of files (type definitions, constants, ...) that I want to
use in multiple projects. How do I make it so that I have only one copy of
the file for multiple projects? If I do add existing to a project, it copies
the file to the project directory. I'd like to have a single directory
(called something like library) that has all the common source code in it
that then gets referenced from the projects.
TIA.
Jeffrey.

This is regarding Visual Studio 2003 (framework 1.1). We have several
projects/libraries. Of course, many of these reference each other. If we
only had one solution, we would simply add all of the libraries that we wish
to debug to the solution, and make project references to the other projects
within the solution. All other library references would be file references,
since they were not included in the solution.
However, the...

Hi,
I have two projects where I want to use the same source file in each
project.
If I add the file to each project, then a local copy is made.
I want to be able to have a single source file used by both projects so
that I only have to change one file.
I am using compiler directives within the file, and so I can't just
build it into a DLL and do it that way, I really do need to make both

Hi all,
I implemented a basic client application. It communicates with server and works properly. Building processes succeed just by giving the following warning:
LINK : D:\DOC\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\Client01\Debug/Client01.exe not found or not built by the last incremental link; performing full link
This warning occurs when building/rebuilding the project after cleaning the intermediate and output files. If the project is once...

Again, I'm new to VB.net and there is something I need help with:
Like (I assume) many of us, over time I want to be able to create some
VB.net classes that I might want to use in more than one Project. So
let's say I've created a Folder called "MyVBNet Classes" to hold these
general-use VB.Net class files that I will eventually associate with
various Projects I create. Now let's imagine I've created a class
called "MyClass.vb" that...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
