Hi all,
I've been struggling with some strange VB behaviour for the last two days.
I have created a usercontrol and placed two buttons in it. One is anchored
bottom and right. When place the control on the form all is fine, I dock it
to fill and then resize the form and the last button remains anchored bottom
and right. I then build the project / or run the project and all is OK.
Now I changed the control to accept constituent...

KB 316560 - FIX: Anchored Control on Inherited Form Changes Location When You Recompil
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;31656
Is NOT fixed at all. On 'Steps to Reproduce Behavior' ad
9. Add a textbox anywhere to Form2
10. Combine the project and see that the bug still exists
This still makes Inherited Forms absolutely useless.

Hi,
I'm having a problem in Visual Studio in C#, using .NET Framework 1.1 Version
1.1.4322 and Microsoft Development Environment 2003 Version 7.1.3088
I make a form A and subclass it with form B. I place a protected component on
A and anchor it top,left,bottom,right.
If I change the size of form B, component G will resize with it
proportionally. But, when I recompile, the derived component G on form B will

Here is my scenario:
I have a few custom controls that I set up on a form and tested setting
properties and appearances.
Then I added a couple references to the project which add classes I need to
get data from the server to actually do something useful. (These are
generated by 3rd party database software.)
After adding those references, and no other changes to my form.... all the
controls disappear from the visual interface on the...

Hey,
I'm trying to figure out what situations call for the use of a derived
form control such as:
public class myListBox : System.Windows.Forms.ListBox
and what situations call for the use of a Custom User Control, generated
by adding a new Custom User Control to a project with VS.NET.

Hi
In a Windows forms application I have 2 forms A and B; Form B inherits from
form A. Form A is never displayed and its only purpose is to be inherited
from and therefore contains mostly public/protected methods that I have
created (as well a few controls that inheriting forms may use). In my method
on form A (public virtual void setcontrols()) I need a list of all controls
on the instantiated form (in this example form B). Form B has a...

I'm running into problems with VisualStudio.NET2003 and Windows
Forms inheritance. It _feels_ like a bug, but it could just as well
be a misunderstanding on my part regarding how the VS Designer
handles inheritance.
Environment:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195
Microsoft Visual C# .NET

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
