There is a form (single form) and a combobox. I want that current record of
the form is adjusted according to selected value in the combobox. Cuurrent
record should be the same as the value in the combobox.
What is the solution?
Thank you in advance.

What is the current preferred way to save user preferences in dotnet? Is the
registry the right place to do this? Can anyone recommend a good article (or
book) for this topic? Thanks.

I am trying to use integrated Windows authentication and
impersonation to run a page that accesses SQL Server via integrated
security. It's not working -- sort of. I've set IIS security to
integrated Windows authentication (and unchecked the other options).
I've set the web.config to use Windows authentication and set
impersonation to true. The connection string includes Integrated
Security = SSPI. And it works... if you access the...

Even though I had my roots and highlights redone just a few days ago, I
don't understand why I appear to be having an ongoing blond moment.
Is it just me or do others among you not 'get' how to make C# and VB.Net
applications play nicely with the the UAC on Vista.
I have read and reread everything I can find on UAC, 'strong-naming' of
assemblies, 'authenticode signing' of assemblies and, even though I'm not
your average thicko by any...

Hello
I am sure most of you are familiar with py2exe. I am having a bit of a
problem. See the program has a few pictures involved and the .ico it uses
for the windows. However, the pictures are stored in the same directory as
the source, something like: C:\Docs and settings\me\My docs\python\program.
When I run the program for the interpreter, just as a .py, everything works
just as it should. However, when I compile the main source as...

We are running DB2 UDB 8.1 fp 14 on AIX using archival logging and
online backups. I was running some disaster tests and found my
database restore was not restoring to the latest active log. Online
backup include logs. For this test I created a disaster where we lost
the database about 30 minutes after the last backup. Current archive
and active logs were saved off and I ran a Restore of the latest
backup and rollforward to the end of...

Hello everyone,
I have been stuck with this problem for quite some time now. I am working in VB.NET, using framework 1.0. I have to keep the compatibility down to the original .NET framework as much as possible. I am forced to use API calls for several functions, one of which is ReadFile. The reason is because the framework seems to use ANSI versions of all API functions, limiting the MAX_PATH for filenames to about 260 chars for ...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
